Sisters and brothers,
This Sunday, to celebrate the Incarnation of the Light, St Uriel's
community will meet together at my house to celebrate an Agape Feast.
The Agape Feast is an early church tradition in which the members of
the community celebrate their bond as a community and their union with
the Divine. We'll share a meal, say some old prayers adapted from
ancient church practice and simply be with each other for the last
time in the year.
To join in, please bring along a vegetarian dish you've cooked
yourself, something you poured some love into, even if it's a simple
salad or just some boiled rice.
I also ask members of the community who are financially able to bring
along some non-perishable food items to donate to folks in need. We'll
collect them on Sunday and drop them off to the Salvos as a way to
share the gift of food with the wider community.
Please make a special effort to set this evening (and some time to
cook!) aside. Bring a friend, especially someone you think could use
some company. All welcome, even (especially!) if you've never had time
to come to a St Uriel's gathering before.
